Room101 is a limited production line from Camacho. This particular release has worked its way into my regular rotation, partly because I like the lancero vitola and partly because of an interesting tangy flavor which differs from any other cigar I’ve tried. Interestingly, these use Dominican Pelo de Oro (golden hair) in the filler, a difficult to produce heritage tobacco susceptible to disease.
These are pleasure to smoke, burning long, slow and without fuss, allowing me to relax and read without distraction
My initial impressions/notes follow:
I’ve been smoking stronger cigars in the morning these days and was happy not to be hit with any overbearing spice or bitterness. Visually, the wrapper is a beautiful chocolate brown and the ring quite elegant. Overall, it consider it to be on the lighter side of medium. The burn was great, apart from some flakiness at the very beginning. Most noticeably I tasted leather, lesser amounts of espresso, cocoa and nuts. The leather was not overbearing at all.
